On March 18th, the Interface Cultures Lab opens its doors to students and visitors. Join us for an introduction, meet our students, and get a glimpse of ongoing projects and research. Guests are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and explore the space.

The IC-Lab offers a wide range of tools and infrastructure for research and project development, including:
Rapid Prototyping – 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC milling, 3D scanning, and more
Electronics – electronics lab and PCB fabrication
Bioart – sterile workspace, indoor farming, and monitoring systems

Interface Cultures lädt zur offenen Lehrveranstaltung zum Thema „Advanced Microcontrollers“. 

In diesem Kurs wird ein Gerät entwickelt, das elektrische Signale der Muskeln verstärkt und per Arduino an einen Rechner sendet. Die Teilnehmenden lernen, Baupläne zu lesen, Teile zusammenzusetzen und eine Platine herzustellen. Der Kurs dauert ein Semester, und am Tag der offenen Tür können Interessierte Einblicke erhalten.

In this course, a device is developed that amplifies electrical signals from muscles and sends them to a computer via Arduino. Participants learn how to read blueprints, put parts together and make a circuit board. The course lasts one semester and interested parties can gain insights on the open day.

In diesem Kurs geht es darum, ein Gerät zu entwickeln, das elektrische Signale der Muskeln verstärkt. Diese Signale können über einen kleinen Computer (Arduino) an einen Rechner geschickt und beispielsweise in Töne, Bilder oder andere Dinge umgewandelt werden. Die Teilnehmenden lernen, wie man Baupläne liest, die Teile zusammensetzt, alles testet und schließlich mit einer Maschine eine Platine herstellt. Der Kurs „Advanced Microcontrollers“ erstreckt sich über ein ganzes Semester, und am Tag der offenen Tür können Interessierte teilnehmen, um einen Einblick zu bekommen.

This course is about developing a device that amplifies electrical signals from muscles. These signals can be sent to a computer via a small computer (Arduino) and converted into sounds, images or other things. Participants learn how to read blueprints, put the parts together, test everything and finally use a machine to produce a circuit board. The Advanced Microcontrollers course lasts a whole semester and anyone interested can attend the open day to get an insight.
